Paul William Staley

Paul William Staley, 94, of Westminster, went home to be with the lord on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Gettysburg Center.  Born December 19, 1923 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Nellie Overholtzer Staley and William E. Staley.  He was the husband of the late Rhoda L. Staley.

During his lifetime he worked 71 years as a service advisor working at Eagle Garage starting in 1939, Gore Motor Co. from 1944-1961, Western Motors from 1961-1982 and Wheeler Chrysler Plymouth and Buchanan Motors.

He was a Life Member of the Moose Lodge No. 1381, American Legion Carroll Post No. 31, Elks Lodge No. 2277, Knights of Phythias, Littlestown Eagles and AMVETS in Fairfield. He was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ.  He served in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed his dog Doodles.

He is survived by daughter Pat Finn-Ruppert and husband Carl of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Heidi Lombardi and husband George, Stephen, Kenneth and Kevin Finn, all of Hanover, PA; Paul Finn and wife Holly of York, PA; Scott Finn of West Palm Beach, FL; Shawn, Julie and Carl Ruppert, Jr. of Thomasville, PA; great-grandchildren Robin Lombardi, Justin, Stephen II, Brent, Chelsea, Alex, Marisa, Amanda, McKenna, Brooklyn and Maleena Finn, and great-great granddaughter Anberlin Weaver, brothers and sisters Frances E. Staley of Blue Ridge Summitt, PA; Robert R. Staley of Westminster; Doris L. Liggon of Smithsburg; Ruth A. Utz of Pasadena; and N. Caroline Beard of Taneytown.

He was predeceased by a sister Mary E. Bailey and brothers Kenneth, Bernard and David "Sonny" Staley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sterling Walsh, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, with military honors.
