Paul “Scott” Bixler, 68, of Union Bridge, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Carroll Hospital. Born December 29, 1952 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Jeanne (Babylon) Bixler and Paul Bixler.
Before retiring he most recently worked 20 years at Evapco and 27 years at Random House. He was a member of the Littlestown Eagles No. 2266, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed weightlifting and was an 8-time World Powerlifting Champion in the Masters Division 60-64 and 5-time National Champion.
He is survived by a son Mark Bixler of Westminster; Brenda Wetzel, his companion of 29 years and her children Eric Wetzel (Lisa) and Corey Wetzel, all of Union Bridge; grandchildren Reagan and McKinley Bixler, Colby, Casen and Alie Wetzel, nephew Bryan Bixler and niece Meghan Lee.
He was predeceased by a brother Michael Bixler.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
