Preston Lee "Buster" Bowers, Sr.

Preston Lee “Buster” Bowers, Sr., 78, of Westminster, died Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at home.  Born July 7, 1945 at his parents’ home in Westminster, he was the son of the late Weldon Bowers, Sr. and Ruth Groft Bowers.  His wife, Margaret “Marge” Bowers, died July 18, 2015.

Before retiring, he was a carpenter and farmer.  He enjoyed farming, animals, bowling and spending time with his family.

Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Preston L. Bowers, Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Westminster, seven siblings, Ruth J. “Tiny” Edwards, of Westminster, John H. “Mickey” Bowers of San Antonio, TX, Mary Jane “Bonnie” Long of Manassas, VA, Carroll T. “Skeeter” Bowers, of Hanover, PA, Gene L. “Skip” Bowers of Westminster, Linda Nelson, of Union Bridge, Robert K. “Speedy” Bowers and wife, Laura, of New Windsor, three grandchildren, Colby Smith, Tristan Bowers and Wyatt Bowers, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Weldon L. “Billy” Bowers, Jr. and Timothy A. Bowers.

The family will receive friends at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main St, Westminster, Saturday, September 16, from 11 am – 1 pm. Celebration of Life services will begin at 1 pm.
