Ralph Edward Barnhart (Barney), 70, of Westminster, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022 surrounded by his loving family following a long battle with cancer. Born on October 20, 1951 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Roland Maurice Barnhart, Sr., and Dollie Elizabeth Porter Barnhart. He was the cherished husband of his loving wife of 47 years, Sherry Bair Barnhart.
He was a Westminster High School graduate of the class of 1969 and was a lifelong operator of Barnhart Trucking. Ralph enjoyed all of his friends, the morning DD coffee meetings, trucking, owner and participant of the Big Truck shows, classic car shows, and camping.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his two loving daughters, Tonya Lotts and husband David of Front Royal, VA., and Amanda Barnhart and partner Tim Cooke of Westminster; sister, Judy Conaway of Woodbine; sister-in-law, Cindy Barnhart of Spring Grove, PA; aunts, Erma Jane Gartrell and Tressa Barnhart; nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Becky, Patty, Mike, and Samantha; brothers-in-law Terry Bair of Taneytown and Wayne Wachter of Keymar.
He is predeceased by his brother Roland Barnhart, Jr., brother-in-law Roger Conaway, sister-in-law Jackie Wachter and “little fellow” Keegan.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Charles Barnhart, Jr. officiating.
