Richard Leo Hamilton, 74, of New Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born at home on a cold snowy day on December 13, 1948 in Reese, he was the son of the late Calvin Harold Hamilton and Mary Elizabeth Costin Hamilton. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Mary Hamilton for 39 years. Before retiring he was a computer analyst for Social Security. He loved photography and was part of the Carroll County Camera Club. He enjoyed cooking, hiking, traveling and visiting museums and theatres. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and in his earlier years he was a member of The Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Jessica Winder and her husband Wayne and his son Erik Richard Hamilton and his wife Nicole; granddaughters Madison and Emma Hamilton; siblings Catherine Didas, Ann Houchins, Amy Myers (James), Patricia Casper, Patrick Hamilton (Deborah), Francis Hamilton (Nancy Zeno) and Mary Tyrrell. He was predeceased by his brother Calvin Hamilton and his sister Marymagdalen Hamilton. The family will receive friends for a viewing on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:15 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Inurnment will be at St. John Cemetery in Westminster.
