Richard Donald Nevin, 90, of Westminster, died Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Brightview Westminster Ridge, with his loving family by his side. Born January 9, 1935 in Hampden, Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul John “Bunny” Nevin and Norma Victoria Harman Nevin. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years Anne Elizabeth Long Nevin, they were married on October 19. 1957.
He retired as a Detective and Sgt. with the Baltimore City Police after 27 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, where he was Santa Claus helper at the annual Christmas Bazaar for 40 years, Baltimore City FOP, Past President and 1st Vice President of Police Benveolent Association and was an investigator for AAA Mid Atlantic Insurance Company.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Christopher M. Nevin (Joyce), Jean Ann Repsher (Robert), Stephen M. Nevin (Carol) and Edward P. Nevin (Karen); brother Leander Sherman “Bunny” Nevin and sister Carol Ann “Sue” Abromaitis; grandchildren Colleen, Kelly, Laura, Sean, Trisha, Sarah, Jennifer, Kathryn, Andrew and Matthew; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Sean Joseph Nevin December 31, 1963, he was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Michael Abromaitis.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. 43 Monroe St., Westminster. All are welcome to a luncheon at the portico after the mass. Inurnment will follow at St. John Cemetery Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Baltimore City Police FOP Benevolent Association or Shepherd’s Staff in Westminster, MD.
