Richard James Snyder “Dickie”, 78, of Westminster, died suddenly on Sunday, March 16th, 2025.  He was born Nov. 2, 1946 in Hereford, MD. Loving husband to his wife of 52 years, Deborah Snyder, beloved uncle of David Chrystal, also survived by his sister Betty Blount, brothers Ronnie Snyder and Bobby Snyder.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Gincy and John Snyder, brothers Billy and Kenny Snyder.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends including his very best friend of 50 years, Bob Thorne.

He was a lifelong car enthusiast, auto body and fender mechanic. He loved Hot Rods and Rat Rods and loved working on classic cars. He was a man's man who loved fixing and building things, camping, decorating for holidays and he LOVED his country music. He could take apart and rebuild an entire car, but couldn't quite get the hang of a remote to turn on his beloved car shows on tv. He was a patriot who loved his country, and was there when anyone needed a helping hand. He loved his cowboy boots and enjoyed working on his many projects in his garage. Most of all, he loved his wife and the life they built together, spending evenings watching tv together, having ice cream together, along with the family pet, Puppins, with whom he shared a special bond, on his lap.

He was loved by many and had friends wherever he went, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Wiseberg Cemetery in White Hall, MD.
