Robert Eugene Linton

Robert Eugene Linton, 87, of Westminster, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at BridgingLife Dove House.  Born June 23, 1935 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Clarence Medford Linton and Bessie Savannah Esworthy Linton, and the beloved husband of the late Gracie Elkins Linton.

Robert was a founding member of Hilltop (formerly First) Assembly of God. He had a long career at Carroll Gardens, where he specialized in preparing roses for shipment all over the world. He enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and Southern gospel music; and avidly followed the Orioles.

He is survived by his daughters Loretta Spangler, Roberta Sass (Ed) and Gracie Gilmore (Rick); brother Allen Wayne Jenkins; grandchildren Nathan Spangler (fiancée Jordan), Matthew Spangler, Andrew Spangler (Erin), Christopher Sass (Meagan), Jonathan Sass (Anna), Rebekah Sass and Bradley Gilmore (Chelsea); and three great-grandchildren.
 
He is predeceased by his sisters Margaret Bowers and Marie Fritz; son-in-law Dave Spangler and grandson Adam Gilmore.
 
The family will receive friends Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster, MD.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
