Robert Andrew “Bob” Nelson, 87, of Westminster, died Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born October 13, 1936 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Isabelle (Rush) Nelson and Roy B. Nelson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Michele Ann Nelson. 

He served in the Navy and retired as an Iron Worker.  Bob was a member of Door to Virtue Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting at his cabin in Deep Creek Lake. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a great sense of humor.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son Michael T. Nelson, daughters Wendi Bangerd and husband Michael, Terri Dorsey and husband Greg, all of Westminster; grandchildren Chelsea (Ryan), Tyler, Cory, Andrew (Brooke), Emilie (Nick), and Braedon, great-grandchildren Callie, Peyton, Genevieve, Shepherd, Willow, Eliza, Luna, Mia and Judge.

He was predeceased by a brother William Nelson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Lyon officiating.  Friends may also call one hour prior to services. Interment with military honors will follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood.
