Rodney Allen “Brownie” Brown, 84, of Westminster, passed peacefully Monday, July 22, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House. Brownie was born June 22, 1940, in Eldersburg, MD. He was the son of the late Mavis M. (Hall) Brown and Adrian M. Brown. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dianne Lynn Brown.
He owned and operated R.A. Brown Gun Repair and was known as the “Gun Doctor”. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was a member of North Carroll Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making bird houses, and trap and skeet shooting.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children Kathleen “Cas” Becker of Hanover, PA, Diana “Sam” Barnhart and husband Scott of Hanover, PA, Shannon L. Brown of Westminster, Ashlie N. Pack and husband David of Westminster, sister Mavis Robertson and husband Jonnie, grandchildren Douglas R. Barnhart, Elana M. Pack and Ryan W. Pack.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services located at 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to North Carroll Rod and Gun Club, 306 W. Deep Run Rd., Westminster, MD 21158.
