Roland Maurice Barnhart Jr., 69, of Spring Grove, Pa., died Friday, August 10, 2018 at home. Born September 13, 1948 in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Roland Maurice Barnhart Sr. and Dollie Elizabeth Porter Barnhart. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cindy Bosley Barnhart.
He graduated from Westminster High School in 1966 and was a lifelong plumber. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army for 3 years, and was a member of the VFW Post 8896 in East Berlin, Pa.
Roland enjoyed classic car shows and loved to help organize the shows. He owned a 1940 Ford pickup and 1966 Nova.
Besides his wife he is survived by 2 children; Ronnie Barnhart of Hanover, Pa., Becky Pearson and husband Billy of Westminster, brother Ralph E. Barnhart and wife Sherry of Westminster, sister Judy Conaway and husband Roger of Woodbine, devoted friend Greg Arentz of Hanover, Pa., 2 grandchildren Courtney Reese and husband Zach of Hanover, Pa., Ryan Barnhart of Hanover, Pa., nieces and nephews Patty, Mike, Tonya, Samantha, and Amanda, and an Uncle Carl and Aunt Tressa Barnhart of Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 East Main St., Westminster, Md. 21157 with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 6 to 9:00 p.m.
