Ronnie Puckett Obituary

Ronnie's three year battle with Brain cancer ended on Friday, 24 September 2021, at the family farm in New Windsor, Maryland surrounded by loved ones.

Ronnie was born to Raymond and Nina (Rose) Puckett in the small southwestern town of Grundy, Virginia, on 29 March 1949.

He was a highly skilled artisan in the drywall industry.  He partnered with his wife of 41 yrs., Phyllis Goins Puckett in running a successful drywall construction company, for most of those years.

He was proactive in many community causes supporting the fight against cancer and neonatal research.

He was an avid outdoor sportsman in the hunting, fishing and golf arenas.  Over the years his skills with training hunting dogs brought many blue ribbons at field trial events.  His love of golf found him on the winter courses in southeastern Arizona, where he and Phyllis were able to divide their time at their winter home in the lovely San Pedro Valley, of Hereford, Arizona.   His love of fishing brought great joy to grandsons Hudson and Crosby Gachot, as he mentored them in the much loved sport for all three.  His time spent with them casting a fishing line in the waters of the farm pond to the sprays of the ocean was always the best days for all three.

The care for his family was his top priority.  He would state that Phyllis and their family were his life savers.  He was most proud of being Dad to daughter Nikki and her husband Jacques.  He vowed on their wedding day to be father to both.  He truly honored his role of Pop-Pop to grandsons Hudson and Crosby.

Throughout the years many have been privileged in knowing the generosity of Ronnie.  He has provided for the young and old alike to be housed and fed with dignity.  Progress will continue in the fight against cancer due to Ronnie's contribution.

He is preceded in death by parents Raymond and Gay Puckett, Nina and Gene Short, brother Carroll Puckett, granddaughter Addie Laila Gachot.

He is survived by wife Phyllis Goins Puckett,  daughter  Nikki Puckett Gachot with husband Jacques Gachot,  grandsons Hudson and Crosby Gachot,  stepson Richard Bertazon wife  Susie  and grandson Ryan, siblings Gary Puckett wife Joan,  Michael Puckett,  Kim Puckett Stevens as well as many other family members and family of friends.
