Sandra Lynn Miller Obituary
Sandra Lynn Miller, 60, of Westminster, MD passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born August 14, 1964, she was the daughter of the late David Willie Muller and Sidney May Ferris Muller. She was the loving wife of 38 years to David Allen Miller.
Sandy was the Director of Post Closing and Quality Assurance at Horizon Farm Credit. Additionally, she held various roles at Trinity Lutheran Church, including Director of Worship and Music, and was also the Director of the Westminster Municipal Band and Assistant Drum Major to the Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1982.
Sandy loved all things music and serving her Lord as was evidenced in her many talents, including her ability to get others involved. People were enthusiastic and happy to be part of Sandy’s chorale, whether it was the Westminster Municipal Band, Lancers Drum and Bugle Corp, Trinity Choir, or rounding up the children for church programs. She was admired for being an efficient and talented multitasker, problem solver and the “go to” person. She enjoyed the yearly trips to Ocean City, MD for the annual MD State Fireman’s Convention. For several years after her high school graduation, Sandy, along with David, helped with the high school Owl Marching Band as marching instructors. After that, she could be found in the press box with David as he announced at the Friday night football games and weekend band competitions. She was always on the go, whether it was work, church or helping David with his “junk runs”. However, she was able to know when to give herself a break and enjoyed getting away from it all to camp with her true love and best friend, David. She also enjoyed spontaneous day trips and watching trains with David.
In addition to her husband David, Sandy is survived by her sister Carolyn I. Hoff and her husband R. Michael Hoff of Westminster, MD; her sister-in-law Lisa A. Hoyt and her husband Donald of Woodstock, GA; her nephews Jarrett Hoyt of Halethorpe, MD and Joel Hoyt of Memphis, TN; her goddaughter Taylor Sperlein and her husband Jeremy, and her ‘grand goddaughter’ Brynleigh Sperlein of Littlestown, PA; her “girls” Lisa Warner and Martha Tracey and her husband Brad and children Jax and Isabel all of Westminster, MD; her aunts and uncles, Linda and Rick Eby of New Oxford, PA; Ed and Jean Ferris of Littlestown, PA; and her aunt Barb Muller of South Carolina, and several loving cousins. Sandy is also survived by her friend Kim Skellan, and many friends and families from church, band, and work. She was loved by so many.
She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Muller; her father-in-law, William ‘Francis’ Miller; and her mother-in-law, Helen Irene Miller, as well as her grandparents, Francis Muller, Myrle Muller, Louise Muller, Helen Ferris, and Clarence Ferris, and her aunts and uncles, Emerson (Buck) and Arlene Muller, Carrie and Buddy Poole, and Uncle Glenn Muller.
