Sharlett Gaynor McClara Obituary

Sharlett Gaynor McClara, passed away suddenly on February 28, 2024, at Cape Coral Hospital, Florida. She was born on January 26, 1938, in Coeburn, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ted Powers and Ruth Cornett. She is survived by her husband James Edward McClara for 22 years; children Gail C. Myers, Karen D. Keeney, Barry R. Keeney, Gary W. Keeney and Allen L. Hilton Jr.; stepson’s David McClara and Jimmy McClara. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She loved praising the Lord and singing in the choir in her earlier years. She also liked playing bingo with her friends, walking on the beach, and collecting shells, playing card and jigsaw puzzles.

She will be cremated and brought to rest in Pennsylvania with her children.

The family will receive friends from 12 - 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 p.m, with Pastor Jeremiah Herbert and Cori Herbert, of Intersection Church, Gettysburg, officiating.
