Stanley Keith Hanson, Sr., 67, of Taneytown, died Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Carroll Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 19, 1957 in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Mary G. Hanson and Harding O. Hanson.  He was the husband of the late Gloria Jean Hanson. 

He worked as a roofer for various companies.  Stanley was an avid Ravens fan.  He enjoyed his animals, hunting, fishing, horse shoes, playing cards, softball and guitar, shooting pool, and listening to music.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by children Stanley Hanson, Jr. (Gigi), Robert Hanson(Jennifer), Greg Clegg and Donna Devaney (Jim); siblings David “Gub” Hanson (Vonnie), Julian Hanson, Delores Luhn (George), Diana Starner and Mary Weinholt; sister-in-law Debby Gilbert; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by brothers Philip Hanson, Robert “Bob” Hanson, brother-in-law Bob Starner, daughter Wanda Hamm, daughter Tammy Clegg, daughter-in-law Rose Clegg and great-grandson Joshua Scott. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Family and friends may also call on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
