Stephen Haines Obituary

Stephen Haines age 59, of Taneytown, MD passed away October 13, 2024, at York Hospital.  He was born March 4, 1965, at Carroll County General Hospital to the late Donald and Caroline (Delawder) Haines. Stephen was predeceased by his brothers Dennis and Donald (“Peanut”).

Surviving are brother Wesley  and wife Kelly Haines. He had four daughters Jessica (Stenley) Badiang and husband Jason, Megan (Haines) McDonald and husband  Paul, Lauren Haines and Heather Haines.  In addition to his children Steve had nine grandchildren: Lavender, Marley, and Price Hill, Rilee Hoy, Reis and Roman Jaeger, and Cole, Delaney, and Bowen McDonald.  He is also survived by nephew Ryan Haines and his niece Tiffany Haines.

Steve graduated from Francis Scott Key High School, Class of 1983. He spent his adult life  working in the HVAC and Plumbing industry alongside his brother Wesley. Steve enjoyed a quiet existence. When not at work he loved listening to rock-n-roll music, watching classic horror movies, WWE wrestling, and late nite television. On Sunday’s during the fall and winter months he could be found rooting for his favorite NFL team the New England Patriots. He took pride in keeping his lawn neat but his favorite past time was spending time with his cat “Sniffles.”

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD 21157.  Interment private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Humane Society of Carroll County in Steve’s honor.
