Steve Jay Jenkins, 63, of Taneytown, died Monday, January 9, 2023, at his residence. Born November 1, 1959 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Margaret Helen Caples and Kenneth Jay Jenkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Monica Jenkins.
He worked as a master carpenter doing construction and remodeling for over 40 years. Steve was a 1978 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, where he excelled in athletics. He enjoyed watching professional sports, coaching his daughters in youth sports, spending time with family - including his beloved pets, vacations at the beach, listening to music, taking care of his yard and house, reading and making people laugh.
Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters Ashley Taglienti (Matthew) of Annapolis; Amanda Perez (Zachary) of Kansas City, MO; and Abigail Harless (Derek) of Conway, SC; sisters Teresa Tischa of Westminster and Kendra Hans (Roger) of Westminster; grandchildren Sivan, Eli and Levi Jay Perez, and sister-in-law Kimberly Bankert Jenkins of Taneytown.
He was predeceased by a brother Rick A. Jenkins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Davis officiating. Interment will be private.
