Taylor Chaffin Obituary
Taylor Chaffin, 28, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.
Born July 23, 1997, in Pisa, Italy, Taylor spent her early years traveling the world as part of a military family, absorbing the beauty of the world before settling in Carroll County, where her light shone brightest. She is survived by her devoted parents; Samuel and Christie Timmons, her sisters Ashley Engles, Cheyenne Chaffin, Brianna Chaffin, and Chloe Timmons; her grandparents Mike and Betty Parr and Tim and Mary Ann Timmons; and her beloved animal companions—dogs Lewix and Waldo, and her most cherished cats, Benjamin and Mia Bella.
Despite facing hardships that would have dimmed a lesser spirit, Taylor met every challenge with bravery, tenacity, and a fierce will. Her intelligence and sharp wit could turn any room into a place of laughter, and her radiant smile—described by all who knew her as a burst of sunlight—brought joy to countless lives. She loved deeply and without reservation, placing family at the center of her universe.
Taylor’s heart for service was boundless. She volunteered tirelessly at local food banks, humane societies, and the Dove House Hospice Center, offering compassion wherever it was needed. As an organ transplant recipient herself, she devoted countless hours to guiding and supporting other transplant patients, walking beside them with empathy and hope on their own journeys. A faithful member of Wakefield Valley Bible Church, she lived her beliefs through action. Her proudest creation was The Shooting Stars, a vibrant group she founded to bring individuals with developmental disabilities together for friendship, activities, and the simple gift of belonging.
Her happiest moments were spent on family adventures—laughing through the magic of Disneyworld and Universal Studios, savoring chocolate-scented air at Hershey Park, building sandcastles at the beach, and sailing the open seas on unforgettable cruises with those she loved most. She filled ordinary days with color: crafting art that spilled creativity across tables, losing herself in music at concerts or curled up with headphones, catching the latest movie on opening night, experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes, battling friends and family over board games, and simply being present with the people she loved.
A celebrated Special Olympics athlete, Taylor earned gold medals in both bowling and track and field with Special Olympics Hawaii, proving that determination and heart could carry her—and those she cheered for—to the top of the podium.
She requested not a funeral, but a lively dance party in her honor—music, laughter, and joy to celebrate her vibrant spirit. Her final wish was to have her remains transformed into an hourglass, so she could forever flip the sands during family game nights and stay at the heart of our gatherings.
Her wishes will be granted as soon as the family is able to make that happen. We’ll gather soon to dance, play, and keep Taylor’s dreams alive!
Details to follow.
