Terry L. Brant, 74, of Westminster passed away suddenly at his residence. Born October 16, 1949 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Irvin Brant and Vera Jean Brant.
An avid, lifelong learner, Terry was the first graduating class of Governor Thomas Johnson High School, went on to attain a B.A. in Physical Education from Catawba College and a M.A. as well. He loved teaching, coaching, physical fitness, and all sports. As a multi-talented athlete, Terry put this giftedness and passion into his career as a physical education teacher. He recently retired from this career two years ago. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren, who are also lifelong learners, enjoy physical activities, and playing sports. We credit his grandson Tommy’s powerful base ball pitching and football throwing arm to Terry. Terry lived a simple and practical life and was not enticed by the lures of this world. He identified as a Christian and was a believer in Jesus Christ, who slept with his Bible on his nightstand. His loved ones have peace and comfort knowing he now resides in the eternal home of our Lord and Creator.
He is survived by his mother Vera Jean Brant of Frederick; sister Cindy Quin of Frederick, daughter Kristina Brant of Breinigsville, PA; daughter Amy Brant Tewksbury and son-in-law Douglas Tewksbury of Plymouth Meeting, PA; grandson Thomas Tewksbury and granddaughter Dylan Tewksbury; niece Jennifer Quin of the Gold Coast, AU; nephew Clayton Quin of Frederick; and former wife Diane Brant of Breinigsville, PA.
He was predeceased by his father Irvin Brant.
Celebration of life services will be held privately for his family; however, fond stories from the past and warm condolences are welcome on Terry's tribute page or mailed to his daughter Amy Brant Tewksbury, 620 Wayland Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
