Tibetha “Tib” Ann Owen, 59, of Westminster, MD, died peacefully Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Edenton Community in Frederick, MD, under the care of Frederick Health Hospice and with loving family by her side. Born July 11, 1966, in St. Petersburg, FL, to the late Helen (Boyle) Owen and George A. Owen.

She was a 1984 graduate of Seminole High School and received an AA degree from St. Petersburg Junior College. Tibetha graduated cum laude from Hood College in Frederick, MD, with a BA in English and French. She was a proud member of the Hood Class of 1990 and remained an active Alumna in areas including development, reunion, and the alumnae magazine. In 2004 she was honored with an Alumnae Achievement Award for lifetime service. Her career took her from writing tutor and assistant instructor in college to page proofreader for the St. Petersburg Times, and then into a more technical phase working in benefits, IT, and payroll for Cambrex Corporation (formerly BioWhittaker, Inc.) in Walkersville, MD. Her true calling was Creative Writing and she spent many years as an active member of the writing community, building a collection of stories, poetry, and novels while also working as an Executive Assistant and Inhouse Editor for a woman-owned consulting firm, Transform, Inc., in Frederick and Columbia, MD.

Tibetha is survived by her sister Claudia Jasinski (Tom) of Utica, NY, aunt Bonnie Owen of Hood River, OR, and numerous cousins and dear friends. She formed lifelong friendships everywhere she went, and she will be greatly missed for her brilliant mind, sparkling wit, and generous heart.
