Valentine Walter Classing, 78, of Manchester, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024.  Born  May 14, 1946 at home in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late William Walter Classing, Sr. and Theresa Wilhelmina Bohlen Classing.  He is survived by his beloved wife Susan Diane Brown Raynes Classing, his wife of 24 years.

He worked at Black & Decker for 20 years in Heat Treat till 1986; Night Manager at Direct to You Gas for 34 years, odd jobs painting and landscaping on the side. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother and sister-in-law John Henry Classing and Debbie Classing of Manchester, Md.; sister and brother-in-law Mary Nickoles and Rick Nickoles of Millers, Md.; son and daughter-in-law Jeremy “Jerry” Valentine Classing and Michelle “Shellie” Classing; step-daughters Rachel Anne Raynes and Stefanie Amber Jones.; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by daughter Jacy T. Classing, siblings Mardell Peterson, William Classing, Jr. Jimmy Classing, Birdie Classing, Uncle Bernard Classing, Sr., and Aunt Estelle Classing.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, MD.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Millers United Methodist Church Cemetery, Manchester, Md.
