Valerie Apple Markle

Valerie Apple Markle, 63, of Westminster, died Sunday, January 28, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House.  Born November 16, 1960 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late John “Thomas” Apple and Mary “Jane” Purdie of Westminster.  She was the loving wife of Jay Denton Markle.

She successfully owned and operated Westminster Glass and Mirror with her husband for over 20 years.  She was a 1978 graduate of Westminster High School.

Throughout her life, Valerie enjoyed boating and trips to the beach with her family. She especially enjoyed trips to the Caribbean with her husband. As a young girl, she loved riding horses and passed that on to her daughter Elle.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her beloved daughter Elle Elizabeth Markle who was the joy of her life, brother Kevin Apple (Julie), and brother-in-law Larry Markle (Bonnie).

She was predeceased by her sister Natalie Lynn Apple.

A Celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at a later date.
