Virginia Joan (Norris) Jennings

Virginia Joan Norris Jennings, 75, of Union Bridge, died Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Orchard Hill Healthcare in Towson.  Born April 10, 1948 in Kensington, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Franklin Norris Sr. and Doris Joan Waugh Norris.  She was the wife of the late Larry Wayne Jennings, Sr. who died March 30, 2022. 

Before retiring she worked at Random House.  She graduated from Westminster High School in 1966.  She had an undying love for animals, liked to crochet, and read books.

She is survived by sons Larry Wayne Jennings Jr. and wife Callie of Hampstead; Darrell E. “D.J.” Jennings and fiancé Gaye Daughton of Hampstead; 4 siblings Barbara Ann Raper, Lewis F. “Buddy” Norris, Jr. and wife Linda, Kenneth W. Norris and wife Bonnie, Diane M. Klingler and husband Harold, all of Westminster; sister-in-law Michelle Norris, 2 grandchildren Legacy M. Jennings and Larry Hunter Jennings, one great-granddaughter Dixielynn M. Jennings, and longtime friend Gail Schneider.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers James L. Norris Sr. and William Mark Norris, and nephew Little Kenny Norris.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.

Services and interment will be private.
