William Douglas Gunn, 63, of Sparks, Maryland, died on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson. Born on September 5, 1955 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Douglas LeRoy Gunn and Adeline Schaefer Gunn. He is survived by his wife Linda M. Gunn.
Doug graduated from Towson High School in 1973, obtained his Eagle Scout, earned his bachelor's degree at University of Maryland in 1977, and was a brother of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry. Doug was a dedicated employee at Publishers Circulation Fulfillment in the Human Resources Department. His commitment to coaching, volunteering his time, and traveling to watch his sons play sports throughout their high school and college years was extraordinary. The Orioles, Ravens, and Terps were a focus, as well as holidays and vacations with family to the Outer Banks.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Sean Douglas Gunn of Sparks, MD and Timothy William Gunn of New Orleans, LA; three sisters Carol Gunn Hennessey of Columbus, OH, Penny and husband Ned Barham of Portsmouth, VA, and Anne Gunn Tejera of Miami, FL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who enjoyed the love he shared with each of them.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 5603 North Charles Street, Baltimore. A private burial will be held prior to the service at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
