William J. "Bill" McClelland

William  J. “Bill” McClelland, 81, of Westminster, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at home in Berlin, MD. Born June 4, 1940 in New Windsor, he was the son of the late William Carl McClelland and Thelma Louise Hooper McClelland.  His wife of 50 years Doris McClelland died October 25, 2009.

Before retiring he was the owner and President of B & D Truck Hoist Inc. from 1974 – 2010.  He was an Honorary Life Member of Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department.  He was an avid hunter, enjoyed traveling, and raced dirt track late models from 1964 – 1980.

He is survived by his children Vicki Newman and husband Jeff of Gettysburg, Terri McClelland of Taneytown, and Brad McClelland and wife Patty of Westminster; devoted companion Norma Layfield of Berlin; sisters Frances McClelland of Westminster, Connie Brunk and husband Bob of Taneytown, and brother Wayne McClelland and wife Judy of Westminster; grandchildren Carrie Myers and husband Darrin, Tim McClelland and wife Kayla, and Shelby Conover; great-grandchildren Adam, Brooke, Bentley, Jett and Maverick.

A private interment will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery for family only. Friends are encouraged to join the family for a

Celebration of Life that will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Fire Hall, 2030 Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster, MD 21158.

A Memorial Service by the Fire Department will be held at 7:00 p.m.
