Wilma Ruth Smith, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Wilma was born July 30, 1940 in Roth, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Lester Dozier, Sr. and Perna Lyons-Dozier and daughter of one of their 14 siblings. She had 4 children, Gary Smith (Alison), Tammy Baker (Terry), Curtis Smith (Lisa), Michelle Wolf (Lenny). She had 11 grandchildren, Tessa, Karin, Gary Wayne, Brittany, T.J., Chris, Matt, Rileigh, Michael, Lenny Jr., Kileigh and 5 great-grandchildren, Arri, Bella, Gracie, Emma and Levi.

Wilma loved her family, friends and the simple things in life like listening to gospel music, cooking, bingo, dining out, gardening and sitting outside enjoying the beautiful flowers and fresh air. She was a wonderful mother and friend who treated everyone like family and taught all of her children and grandchildren to do the same.

Before retiring from General Electric in Columbia, MD, she worked on the assembly line and had various other factory jobs. She lived in Jessup, MD for many years and in her final days lived close to her 2 daughters in Westminster, MD.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 12, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tommy Rawlett officiating.
