Eugene John "Bud" Saylor, 81, of Westminster died Friday March 21, 2008 at the Beverly Living Center. Born July 24, 1926 in Smallwood he was the son of the late John Elmer Saylor and Belle Eugenia Easton Saylor. Survived by his wife of 58 years Nadine M. Frock Saylor. They were married on May 14, 1949. Before retiring he was a self-employed carpenter and also worked as a carpenter for the State of Maryland at Rosewood. He served in the Army during WWII in the 94th Infantry Division 302 Maryland Infantry Company K serving in France, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Life member of VFW Post Molleville Farm Post #467 and the American Legion Carroll Post #31. He was a life member of Deer Park United Methodist Church. He served as a trustee at the church and was also a trustee for the Deer Park Cemetery. He was a member of the Tri-District Republican club. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Gary E. and Cindy G. Saylor of Westminster; grandson and fiancé Eric J. Saylor and Kristen Banker of Westminster, granddaughter Rebecca K. Saylor of Westminster, great granddaughter Annelise Saylor of Westminster; sister-in-law Elaine C. Saylor of Westminster; four nephews; Mike and Don Strine and Jeff and Rick Saylor. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy Strine. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Park United Methodist Church in Smallwood with his pastor Rev. Basil Day officiating. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 East Main Street, Westminster on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
